From Greek lyrics and Gregorian chants, to Renaissance magic and Indian Ragas these seven modes have had a governing presence in traditional music for centuries.

The interface will be the hammered dulcimer, a traditional stringed instrument dating back to the Middle Ages and played across Europe and Asia. However, any musical instrument that can play scales will work to understand the use and applications of modes.
